COVINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a body has been found in a car that was in a creek beneath a highway overpass in Indiana’s Warren County amid high waters in the area.

Warren County Sheriff Bill Miller says a bridge inspector spotted the car’s tires in Opossum Run Creek around 1 p.m. Thursday and called police. Divers took around two hours to recover the body in an area about 80 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Miller says waters in the area have been high due to flooding, and have started to recede in the past couple of days. He says it’s possible the car was completely covered by water at one point.

The body has not been identified. According to Miller, an autopsy is scheduled Saturday. Conservation Officer Lt. Dan Dulin says authorities are investigating the incident as a traffic accident.
