SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is set to make a campaign stop in Utah next month.
Utah Democratic Party spokeswoman Yandary Zavala says Clinton will be in Park City on Aug. 5 at a private fundraiser.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1L2D1vV ) that the event will be at the home of Barry and Amy Baker. The couple has hosted the Clintons previously. Barry Baker is a senior adviser to a private equity and venture-capital firm. Amy Baker used to work for NBC News.
State Democratic chairman Peter Corroon says the former secretary of state’s visit this early in the campaign shows Utah is playing a more prominent role in politics.
State Republican chairman James Evans says Clinton will likely visit with liberal elites since she doesn’t relate to everyday Americans.
