DETROIT (AP) - Wayne County residents will get the chance to share their thoughts about the county’s finances with a state-appointed review team.

A public informational meeting is scheduled Friday afternoon in Wayne County Commission chambers in downtown Detroit’s Guardian Building.

Wayne County faces a projected $171 million deficit by 2019 if remedial measures aren’t taken.

County Executive Warren Evans asked the state to declare a financial emergency. Evans said he wants to enter into a consent agreement with the state that will allow the county to continue negotiations with its stakeholders.

Gov. Rick Snyder appointed the review team earlier this month after a state board said Wayne County is operating under probable financial stress. The team must report back to Snyder whether a financial emergency exists in the county.
