MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - State investigators said a gun was pointed at Newton County deputies before the officers shot and wounded two men during a traffic stop.

Authorities said the men were shot during a Friday night traffic stop. Deputies stopped the car because they believed it was connected to another crime.

A spokeswoman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1UOtPjz ) that at least one person in the car pointed a gun at the deputies. The deputies fired their weapons and injured two of the men in the car.
