FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - Police in Fort Smith say a 44-year-old man was killed when another man apparently changed his mind about killing himself and fired a gun randomly out a vehicle window.

Cpl. Barbara Williams says Brent Allen Morrison of Fort Smith died in the shooting Saturday and a 24-year-old Fort Smith man was arrested. The suspect was being held without bond for suspicion of first-degree murder and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

Williams says Morrison and the suspect did not know each other and that Morrison was “in the wrong place at the wrong time” when the suspect fired the weapon out the window of the parked vehicle.
