GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 54-year-old man has been recovered in the Coosa River.

Etowah County Coroner Michael Heads tells Al.com (https://bit.ly/1Lb7dFi) that James Herman Garrett went under the water around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday while swimming with two friends and two dogs. Garrett’s body was recovered about 7 p.m.

Head says the man appears to have swum too far out.
