JACKSON, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man in East Feliciana Parish.

State troopers say in a news release that 55-year-old John Guate of St. Bernard Parish died in the crash on Sunday morning.

State Police spokesman Bryan Lee says Guate was riding his motorcycle northbound on Louisiana 952 when he failed to make it around a left curve causing him to drive off of the road. State troopers say Guate’s bike then hit a guardrail ejecting Guate.

State police say although Guate was wearing a helmet, he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers say they do not believe that Guate was impaired at the time of the accident, but that a routine toxicology sample was taken for analysis.
