JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State long jumper Roelf Pienaar has earned a medal with a third place finish in the event at the World University Games in South Korea.

Pienaar long jumped 25-feet-two inches to qualify for the finals, then leaped 26-feet-2 inches in the final for the third place finish.

Pienaar was competing for his home country of South Africa.

He also competed in the triple jump where he posted a personal best of 52-feet-10 inches to qualify for the finals. He then finished 10th with a leap of 52-feet-½-inch.

Pienaar will be a junior at ASU.
