CUMMING, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say they believe a man found dead was in the process of committing a burglary before he passed away.

Multiple media outlets report that Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says investigators believe Joseph Pollard and Jeffery Chester were attempting the burglary together at a home Saturday, when Pollard died and Chester left him behind.

Deputy Epi Rodriguez says investigators were called to the scene, where they found the body of 42-year-old Pollard, of Gainesville.

Rodriguez says while deputies were at the home, 51-year-old Chester, of Cumming, returned to the scene, where he was arrested and charged with burglary. Rodriguez says Chester was later released after posting bond.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine Pollard’s cause of death, but police say that foul play is not suspected.
