CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (AP) - Cripple Creek may join another Colorado casino town in allowing round-the-clock alcohol sales.

The Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1DeLXbi ) that the Cripple Creek City Council will vote on the proposal Wednesday.

Last month, the town of Black Hawk allowed two casinos to serve liquor around the clock.

The alcohol vote comes as Cripple Creek casinos face competition from Black Hawk, while also enduring consecutive lackluster summer tourist seasons.

Attendance waned amid the threat of flash flooding, which has routinely closed U.S. 24 through Ute Pass.

No one on the council has objected to the plan, which was presented by the Cripple Creek Casino Association.
