DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Des Moines man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a woman and demanding money for drugs.

The Des Moines Register (https://dmreg.co/1Skjesu ) reports a woman told police a 23-year-old man she knows confronted her at a gas station and asked for $50. According to a police report, the victim said she had no cash and walked away.

The report says the man followed her in a vehicle, jumped out and pushed her inside the car, demanding money for methamphetamine.

Authorities say the suspect robbed the woman before she was able to jump out of the car and run into a home. Police located the man and arrested him. He faces charges of kidnapping in the third degree, robbery and drug possession.
