NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the man who remains missing after he slipped into the Niagara River last weekend and was swept away by the fast-moving current.

New York State Parks Police say 58-year-old Daniel Ingram of Niagara Falls fell into the water below the falls while fishing early Sunday morning at Whirlpool State Park.

A friend who was with him alerted police, and a search was begun.

So far searches of the lower Niagara River by several police agencies and the U.S. Coast Guard have turned up no sign of Ingram.
