BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges she stabbed her husband in the leg with a corkscrew before also puncturing his lung with a knife.

Online court records show a just denied bail for 21-year-old Alice Malave-Roque (mah-LAH’-vay ROH’-kay) because her husband was critically injured Monday.

WNEP-TV (https://bit.ly/1CBDCDM ), which first reported the incident in Bloomsburg, says the victim, Michael Eyer, has been upgraded to serious condition at Geisinger Medical Center near Danville.

Eyer told police his 21-year-old wife threatened to shoot them both if she had a gun before stabbing him.

She had obtained a protection-from-abuse order against Eyer earlier this year after he allegedly texted the woman to say he wanted to “taste her blood.”

The suspect faces a preliminary hearing July 22 on attempted homicide and other charges.
