LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says the recent death of a county jail inmate has been ruled to be the result of pre-existing medical conditions.

Sheriff’s Capt. Carl Minden said Wednesday that an autopsy determined that the death of 69-year-old Russell McKinnon was due to heart disease with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as a contributing factor.

A jail report says McKinnon was found unconscious in his cell on July 7 and later died.

McKinnon was being held on aggravated assault and weapons charges.
