MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say the death of a woman killed in a northern New Jersey house fire has been ruled an accident.

They also say the fire that broke out late Monday night in a multifamily home in Morristown does not appear to be suspicious, and they don’t expect to file any criminal charges

Morris County prosecutors said Wednesday that 31-year-old Kelly Smith lived in one of the five apartments in the Pine Street home. But the cause of her death was not released.

Investigators have determined that the blaze started on the lower level of the residence, but further details have not been disclosed.

Eleven people overall lived in the residence. Several of them have received food, clothing and other assistance from the American Red Cross.
