WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) - Authorities in Rhode Island say they’re investigating after a man was hit by a boat and seriously injured while swimming in the ocean near a beach house owned by singer Taylor Swift.

The man has been identified as 56-year-old James Delisle. Delisle was swimming in Westerly Tuesday afternoon when he was hit. His condition was upgraded to good on Wednesday.

Chief Robert Peacock of the Watch Hill Fire Department previously said people helped Delisle to shore. He said Delisle was bleeding and semi-conscious with non-life-threatening wounds to his back, shoulders and arms.

Authorities are looking for the boat that hit him. The state Department of Environmental Management says the boater may not have seen Delisle. They say they are trying to find out if the boater hit him intentionally.
