MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker’s administration has identified a suspect arrested in connection with a bomb threat that forced a state Capitol building evacuation as a Madison man.

State Department of Administration spokesman Cullen Werwie said in an email Wednesday that the man is 55 years old and was arrested for causing a bomb scare and unlawful use of a telephone. Werwie released the man’s name but The Associated Press isn’t identifying him because he hasn’t been charged with any crimes.

Police learned of the threat on the afternoon of July 8 and evacuated the Capitol while the Assembly was debating the state budget. The evacuation delayed debate by two hours.
