EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Justin Schultz and the Edmonton Oilers avoided a salary arbitration hearing, agreeing to $3.9 million, one-year contract Wednesday.

The 25-year-old defenseman made $3.675 million last season. He had six goals and 25 assists in 81 games last season and has 25 goals and 66 assists in 203 NHL games, all with the Oilers.
