LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - A convicted burglar has been indicted in the 2012 fatal shooting of a 15-year-old West Texas boy whose remains were found last month.

Jose Simental of Brownfield was indicted Tuesday on a murder charge in the slaying of Mark Ysasaga (ee-suh-SAH’-guh).

The 20-year-old Simental was being held Wednesday in the Lubbock County jail.

The teen’s June 2012 disappearance was treated as a missing person case. Lubbock police received a crime line tip and located the body June 6 buried on some private property. The tipster received a $10,000 reward.

Simental was serving seven years in a Texas prison for a November 2012 burglary when he was returned to Lubbock. Police cited evidence at a home Simental once rented.

Online jail records don’t list an attorney to speak for Simental.
