WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) - A Worland physician named in a wrongful death suit has filed a response to the claims that he caused a man to overdose on opioid medication.

The Northern Wyoming Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1FD51WW ) that an attorney for Dr. Edward Zimmerman says the doctor denies the allegations of wrongdoing. He says Anderson’s cause of death is listed as undetermined. The autopsy found no significant drug or other toxin to explain Kevin Anderson’s death.

In July 2013, 44-year-old Anderson was taken to Washakie Medical Center for abdominal pain. He was prescribed medication and discharged. Anderson’s wife, Stephanie Anderson, found him dead the next morning.

The wrongful death suit filed last month claims the doctor is responsible for Anderson’s death because he caused him to overdose on hydromorphone. A nurse and Banner Health are also named in the suit.
