MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Police say an Eagle Point woman used her children’s Social Security numbers to steal vehicles from local car dealerships.

The Medford Mail Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1JhJWx6 ) that authorities say 35-year-old Raquel Vivianni Verdugo used the numbers in April and May to get financing at Skinner Autoplex, Lithia Honda in Medford and Lithia Nissan in Medford. Police say she then drove off with vehicles.

Verdugo faces various theft and identity theft charges.

Her court-appointed attorney argued that Verdugo deserves an opportunity to see if she could succeed in drug court. That option would allow her to have her sentence reduced or eliminate if she meets certain requirements.

Jackson County Circuit Judge Patricia Crain rejected the request on Tuesday.

The deputy District Attorney says law enforcement is still investigating Verdugo and may file additional charges.
