BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is seeking leads about a road grader that was vandalized on the Dewey Wills Wildlife Management Area in LaSalle Parish.

Officials say the road grader was used June 26 when it overheated and couldn’t be moved to its secured storage area so it was parked on Hunt Road with the grader’s cab locked.

The 2011 John Deere road grader was vandalized sometime between 5:30 p.m. June 26 and 7 a.m. June 27.

Authorities said Tuesday that the equipment’s front windshield was shattered, as was the left side door window and both rear view mirrors from somebody throwing rocks. The estimated damages were over $5,000.

Anyone with information about the vandalism should call Louisiana Operation Game Thief at 1-800-442-2511 or use LDWF’s tip411 program.
