LOGAN, Utah (AP) - Police say a Utah doctor’s office was evacuated after a disgruntled patient who was unhappy with his treatment threatened to kill himself.

A doctor’s office next to the Logan Regional Hospital called for help around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday after a 59-year-old man with a handgun was heard threatening to kill himself.

Logan Police Captain Tyson Budge said the Garden City man was unhappy with his treatment but did not threaten or point the weapon at anyone else.

Negotiators were able to talk the man down for a medical evaluation and criminal charges may be pending.

The doctor’s office was a spine and pain clinic and neighboring businesses were also cleared, although the rest of the building and the hospital were not evacuated.
