RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno fire officials say surveillance video from a nearby casino helped them track down two suspected arsonists accused of setting a series of fires behind big-box stores on the south side of town.

Reno Fire Capt. Tray Palmer says 20-year-old Bryce Wilson and 19-year-old Gavin Maddox each were arrested Thursday after four different fires were reported between about 2:30 and 4 a.m. Each is charged with one count of first-degree and three counts of third-degree arson.

Two commercial vehicles were damaged with total damage estimated at more than $25,000.

Palmer told the Reno Gazette-Journal (https://tinyurl.com/ptzynzf) it appears to be a case of “malicious vandalism.” He says they apparently targeted random stacks of waste behind a Wal-Mart, Loews, Food Source and U-Haul rental store along Kietzke and South Virginia Street near the Atlantis Casino.
