NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven police have made three arrests in the April shooting death of a 16-year-old boy.

Police say a 17-year-old, whose name has not been released because of his age, shot Torrence “T.J.” Gamble in the head on April 3. That teen has been charged with murder, conspiracy and carrying a pistol without a permit.

A second 17-year-old, who already was in custody on unrelated charges, and 22-year-old John Helwig of Milford have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

All three are being held in lieu of bonds ranging from $600,000 to $1 million.

Police have declined to comment on a motive or the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the arrests warrants have been ordered sealed by a Superior Court judge.
