SANDUSKY, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a helicopter damaged power lines while landing in a Michigan community and took off as police responded to the scene.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports (https://bwne.ws/1K91VsC ) a Sanilac County sheriff’s deputy and an officer with the Sandusky Police Department arrived Wednesday afternoon at a manufacturing business to see the helicopter, which was on the ground, fly away.

The business is located near Sandusky, about 75 miles north of Detroit. Utility crews were called to repair the damaged lines. Police are investigating.
