BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the body found in Lake Mead on Sunday as 24-year-old Luis Javier Bojas-Vargas.

The office identified the man Thursday. A cause of death is still being determined.

The National Park Service confirms Bojas-Vargas is the same man reported missing on July 5 when he jumped from a boat and didn’t resurface. Authorities at the time thought the missing man was 35-year-old.

Bojas-Vargas was wearing a life-jacket when he jumped from the boat but it came loose.

A boater found his body a week later at about 8 p.m. in the Boulder Basin of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Park Service spokeswoman Christie Vanover says the man was not a U.S. citizen. The agency and coroner’s office don’t know where the man lived.
