ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - The office of the Caledonia County state’s attorney is going to be beefing up its handling of domestic and sexual assault cases.

The office has been awarded a three-year grant to hire a part-time investigator and prosecutor to focus on domestic assault and sexual violence cases.

Deputy Caledonia County State’s Attorney Kirk Williams tells the Caledonian Record (https://bit.ly/1O8ClED ) crimes of domestic and sexual assault can be complex and they deserve special focus.

Williams said Tuesday that St. Johnsbury attorney Robert A. Brazil is expected to start work Monday with the help of a federal STOP grant. Office intern and evidence archivist Michael Roosevelt will be the investigator.
