PARK RIVER, N.D. (AP) - The crash of a car and a semitrailer at the intersection of two state highways in Walsh County has killed two women and injured two more.

The Highway Patrol says an 81-year-old woman from Bismarck and an 84-year-old woman from Glendive, Montana, were passengers in the car and died at the scene, at the junction of Highways 32 and 17.

An 86-year-old Bismarck woman who also was a passenger was taken to a Grand Forks hospital with what authorities said were serious injuries. The 80-year-old Bismarck woman driving the car was treated at a Park River hospital and released.

The patrol says the car ran a stop sign at the intersection shortly before noon Wednesday and was struck by the semitrailer. The Canadian man driving the truck was not hurt.
