ARLINGTON, Wash. (AP) - Snohomish County sheriff’s divers have recovered the body of a 21 year-old Granite Falls, Washington, man from an island in South Fork of the Stillaguamish River.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Wednesday evening that a 911 caller reported the man floating, unresponsive, in a shallow part of the river. Despite CPR, the man could not be revived. His name was not immediately released.

Ireton says drugs are believed to have been a contributing factor in the death. The county medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death and positively identify him.
