SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A former Siloam Springs teacher has pleaded guilty to having sexual encounters with a 13-year-old boy.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1TEcsAg ) reports 33-year-old Mary Faith McCormick pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree sexual assault. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors reduced her charge from rape to sexual assault.

Prosecutors say McCormick had two sexual encounters, one in McCormick’s house and one in a remote area, with the former student after the two began to contact one another through social media. Police say she started a relationship with the student between June and July last year using the smartphone application Snapchat. They say she sent the teenager a picture of her breasts.

McCormick will remain free on $50,000 bond until her sentencing hearing, which has been scheduled for July 30.
