BETHANY, La. (AP) - The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office says a 77-year-old Keithville man and a trucker from Arkansas are hospitalized after a multi-vehicle wreck on Louisiana Highway 79 near the Texas state line.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick says the highway was closed for several hours after the big rig crossed the center line late Wednesday and collided head-on with a pickup truck towing a car on a trailer.

Chadwick says the car came off the trailer and hit the vehicle behind it, but nobody in that vehicle was hurt.

She identifies the pickup’s driver as Edward Duraczynski (dur-uh-CHIN-skee) of Keithville and the trucker as 52-year-old Stephen Marvel of Marion, Arkansas.

She says the tractor-trailer crashed in the woods after hitting Duraczynski’s truck.
