CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Logan County Family Court judge has resigned.

The Charleston Gazette (https://bit.ly/1J1Z3z1 ) reports that Judge Jason Harwood notified West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Margaret Workman in a July 6 letter that he would resign. He didn’t give a reason.

Harwood’s resignation was effective July 10.

Workman has appointed Susan Perry to temporarily replace Harwood until Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin names a permanent replacement.

Harwood was elected to the eight-year term in 2008.

Perry served as a temporary family court judge in Mingo County last year. She previously served as a law master and as deputy secretary for the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
