PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh police have been searching for a gunman who killed a 20-year-old man as he got into a car and critically wounded his 18-year-old passenger.

The shooting happened about 12:45 a.m. Thursday in the city’s Hill District, a blighted area being developed just east of downtown.

Police say the victims were from another neighborhood in the city’s East End and were leaving a home they had visited when they were shot while getting into a vehicle.

Police say the 20-year-old driver tried to run away but collapsed and died about 30 feet away. The passenger, who was wounded in the head, was taken to a hospital.
