NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - A Newark man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for a three-month crime spree in 2012 that included robbing the same grocery store twice in the same week.

Larry McRae pleaded guilty in June 2014 to robbery and gun charges. U.S. District Court Judge Kevin McNulty sentenced him Thursday and ordered the 28-year-old to serve three years of supervised release when he gets out.

McRae robbed six convenience stores at gunpoint. Prosecutors say his spree ended on Sept. 15, 2012 when he fired off a single shot after robbing a Newark deli.
