BENTON, Maine (AP) - A Rhode Island man is in critical condition after crashing his pickup truck on Interstate 95 in Maine.

The Kennebec Journal (https://bit.ly/1TEsTN2 ) reports that 48-year-old Gilbert Dubois, of Burrillville, Rhode Island veered off the Benton highway Tuesday night.

Witnesses told police that Dubois was driving in the right travel lane and veered into the passing lane before crashing in the median.

Maine state troopers say the truck continued for roughly 150 yards in the ditch before striking a tree and overturning.

Dubois remains in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland as of Wednesday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they are not sure what caused the crash.
