MCMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) - Police in McMinnville, Oregon, say they have arrested two former employees of a local dental practice who are accused in a long-term theft case involving thousands of dollars.

In a statement Wednesday, police Capt. Dennis Marks said records supplied by the dentist’s office showed the case involved receipt of unauthorized unemployment wages, payment for hours not worked, unauthorized vacation time, altered timesheets and fraudulent use of business checks and credit cards.

Marks said 56-year-old Linda Hixson of McMinnville was arrested for investigation of aggravated theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery and computer crime. He says 47-year-old Sherry McMullen of Amity was arrested for investigation of theft. It was not known late Wednesday if the women had lawyers.

McMinnville is southwest of Portland.
