ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say they’ve found the construction worker who went missing from his Eagle River worksite over the weekend.

The Alaska Dispatch News reports (https://bit.ly/1TEAbQZ ) that 38-year-old Vasily Basargin was found Wednesday in a neighborhood near the river after he was reported missing Saturday.

Police say Basargin was working on a house in a heavily wooded area and had told a co-worker that he was going to use the restroom, but he never returned.

Police received numerous reports from residents who thought they spotted Basargin attempting to enter homes and sheds. Residents in the Birch Hills Drive neighborhood say they saw a man who looked “disheveled” knocking on doors.

When police found Basargin, he told them he hadn’t eaten in five days. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
