NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police in Connecticut say there was a second arm in a bag found near where two severed legs were discovered earlier this week.

New Haven Officer David Hartman said Thursday that after a “closer examination” of the bag it was determined there were two arms without hands instead of the one arm authorities had earlier announced.

The plastic bag was found Wednesday night on a ledge below a bridge.

Hartman has said it’s unclear if all the remains are related.

The two legs were found Wednesday morning in foliage along a fence line near a railroad station. A man led an officer to the scene near the bridge.

Police are checking missing-person reports. Hartman says police don’t believe a train accident is an explanation.
