NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - Natchez police say a suspect in a June 19 fatal shooting has been returned to local custody after being arrested in Houston, Texas.

Detective Jerry Ford tells The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/1HR2ovw ) that 18-year-old Lee R. Smith Jr. of Natchez was extradited to Mississippi on Tuesday. Smith was being held without bond pending an initial court appearance. It is not known if he has an attorney.

Ford says Smith was arrested during a traffic stop in Houston.

Ford says Smith and 20-year-old Antonio K. Clay are each charged with murder in the shooting death of 20-year-old of Jamarius Jackson.

Ford says Jackson was shot twice at an apartment complex and later died in a local hospital.

Ford says investigations believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier disagreement.
