OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Northbound and southbound traffic on Interstate 35 will be slowed and stopped temporarily early Thursday by Oklahoma Highway Patrol vehicles near Turner Falls in Murray County.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the traffic will be slowed between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. for limited blast work associated with ongoing removal of a rock slide in the Arbuckle Mountains.

Traffic is expected to be stopped for about 20 minutes and lanes will reopen once the area is safe for drivers. The work is dependent on weather conditions.

Northbound and southbound I-35 remains narrowed to one lane in each direction and speed limits are reduced to 50 mph through late August.
