STANNARD, Vt. (AP) - Two Northeast Kingdom men are facing charges of poaching deer this spring.

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says 37-year-old Shawn Bell of Greensboro has been charged with taking deer in closed season and 22-year-old Kasey Ainsworth of Coventry is charged with possessing and transporting deer taken in closed season.

Authorities say more arrests are possible.

Bell says he plans to plead guilty when he is arraigned on Monday; Ainsworth, who did not have a listed number, will be arraigned on Aug. 4.

If convicted, they would lose their right to hunt in Vermont and 43 other states for three years and face up to 60 days in jail, a minimum fine of $400, and an additional $2,000 fine for each illegally killed animal.
