PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Yavapai County authorities say four boys are accused of criminal trespassing and aggravated vandalism for allegedly damaging Mayer Elementary School.

All have been referred to a juvenile court for prosecution.

County sheriff’s officials say the skateboard-toting juveniles climbed onto the roof of the school and shut down 35 air conditioning units on either July 11 or 12.

That resulted in a $500 loss of school food that was in large refrigerator-freezer.

There also was damage to rain gutters and brackets holding electrical conduit piping were pulled away from wall mounts.

School officials say the cost to repair the damage already has exceeded $1,000.

Authorities say two of the suspects are 14-year-old and 16-year-old brothers from Prescott Valley. The others are brothers from Las Vegas and are ages 14 and 11.
