TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A southern New Jersey man pleaded guilty to stealing $125,000 from an elderly couple he met as a caseworker for Atlantic County Adult Protective Services.

New Jersey’s acting attorney general said William Price, of Linwood, pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree theft by deception before Superior Court Judge Michael A. Donio.

Authorities say that under the agreement Price will be sentenced to five years in prison and must repay the money he stole.

Price was indicted in March along with three others who officials say conspired to defraud their elderly clients. A fifth person has pleaded guilty to money laundering in the scheme.

Officials say Price stole the money in 2006 from a couple he met through his position as a caseworker for the county.
