LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An engaged couple and their young child killed in a fiery crash in New Jersey have been identified as Louisville residents.

The Courier-Journal reports (https://cjky.it/1CMQcQg ) the Saturday crash killed 24-year-old Edward Russell Hitt; 21-year-old Briana Mae Anderson; and their one-year-old daughter, Charlotte Reagan Hitt.

New Jersey state police say a man driving on a suspended license caused the chain-reaction crash on Interstate 80. Authorities say two vehicles were stopped in traffic when an SUV driven by 22-year-old Bhavuk Uppal struck the Hitts’ car from behind. The car became engulfed in flames, and the three died at the scene around 4 a.m.

Uppal has charged with three counts of death by auto, along with other charges.

The family was scheduled to be memorialized and buried in Crestwood, Kentucky, on Saturday.
