SELBYVILLE, Del. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the cause of house fire in Selbyville in which a firefighter was slightly injured when he fell through the ceiling in the attached garage.

The fire was reported about 8:30 p.m. on Old Mill Bridge Road. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says firefighter arrived to heavy smoke in a back bedroom on the first floor and an unfinished second floor.

Officials say a firefighter was hurt when he fell through the ceiling, but declined treatment.

The fire marshal’s office says damage is estimated at $300,000. Authorities say the blaze originated in the first-floor bedroom, and the cause is under investigation.
