BENTON, Ark. (AP) - A former Benton police officer has been found not guilty of rape and sexual battery involving a minor.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1I7HhJG ) reports 43-year-old Monte Hodge was acquitted Wednesday afternoon of three counts of rape and two counts of second-degree sexual battery.

Prosecutors say Hodge was accused by a now-19-year-old of sexual abuse starting when the accuser was seven and lasting a decade. The teenager told officials at a child advocacy center in Hot Springs of the allegations in October 2013.

Hodge was placed on administrative leave that month and was later fired.
