CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) - A 22-year-old Coahoma County man has been convicted of murder in a 2012 fatal shooting.

The Clarksdale Press Register reports (https://bit.ly/1faBAzt ) John Battle Jr. of Friars Point was convicted this week in the March 27, 2012, slaying of Patrick Williams in Jonestown. Battle’s sentencing is pending.

Prosecutors say Battle’s handprint was found on the front passenger side quarter panel of Chapman’s car. They say Williams was shot outside a gasoline station in a drive-by shooting.
