HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Heavy rains have forced the temporary closure of some campgrounds and recreation areas at Summersville and Sutton lakes.

The rainfall has raised the levels of both lakes.

At Summersville Lake, the Salmon Run and Battle Run boat ramps are closed, as well as portions of the campsites at Battle Run. The beach area is also is closed.

At Sutton Lake, the Gerald R. Freeman and the Bakers Run campgrounds are closed. That leaves Bee Run as the only campground open at Sutton.

Once waters recede and repairs are made, the recreation areas will reopen.
