SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah public schools are getting $45.8 million School LAND Trust program in its biggest payout yet.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1KcGhpX) the trust fund has $2 billion in its account, money collected from 3.3 million acres of land managed by the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.

This year’s payout is 17 percent higher than last year’s.

Funds go directly to support student academics.
